This weekend HSBC will make life even sweeter for travellers buying foreign currency or travellers' cheques online.
Holidaymakers placing an order of more than £250 will not only get free home delivery, they will also get £10 cashback. This could be put to good use by those travelling abroad. The bank compiled a list of ten summer essentials that could be funded by the cashback offer, including buying a phrasebook in a foreign language or downloading 12 summer tunes for an iPod.
UK holidaymakers cite convenience and savings in cost and time as the key reasons for arranging their holidays online, said John Nicholson, HSBC's head of travel money.
The bank's online travel money service offers commission-free currency and travellers’ cheques as well as commission-free buy-back at HSBC branches.
Travellers can access 71 different currencies and nine types of travellers’ cheques with HSBC travel money.
"And for this weekend only, they'll also pocket £10 for their efforts," Mr Nicholson said.
