Legal & General life insurance has announced that is launching a new campaign with the British Heart Foundation to encourage UK businesses to get their workforce more active.
A special Fundamentals briefing will reveal details of the new campaign, which will attempt to demonstrate the actual cost to a business of being 'unfit' and outline how stress and other health issues are impacting the efficiency of Britain.The briefing will also explain how businesses and employees will be able to benefit from the initiative, which supports the government's fitness and health eating drive.
The Legal & General campaign launch will be held at the company's Temple Court offices in London on August 31st and will feature an address by Len Almond, Senior British Heart Foundation Advisor on physical activity and health at Loughborough University.
Britain has witnessed soaring levels of obesity in recent years and a steep increase in diet-related illnesses, such as diabetes and heart disease. Ministers are keen to tackle the problem with healthy eating and exercise campaigns, in order to relieve the burden on businesses and the health service.
