The AA will offer both individual and joint life policies, with waiver of premium available, when it moves into the life insurance field on Saturday October 1st.
The firm already provides car, home and travel insurance and it will make this product available on its website.Kevin Sinclair, managing director of AA Insurance, claims the company's will be straightforward to obtain and be competitive against its rivals.
"Many people find applying for life assurance confusing and tend to put off buying decisions. We aim to make the process as quick and easy as possible with premiums amongst the cheapest available," he said.
Mr Sinclair believes that people neglect to take out life insurance, which he considers crucial to securing the financial future of the dead person's family or friends.
He said: "While most people are happy to insure their home and their car, they could do more to protect the people closest to them, should the worst happen.
"The risk of a death in the family is not something people like to think about and, as a result, there is huge life under-insurance in the UK."
