Nearly half of British men spend the run up to a trip abroad worrying about how they are going to pay for their holiday, according to research from Halifax Travel Insurance.
On top of financial worries 35 per cent of men were also concerned over clearing their desks and completing work before taking a trip.Meanwhile 48 per cent of women become anxious over the completion of pre-holiday chores.
The study suggests that one in five Brits have sleepless nights in the run up to a holiday, while one in ten actually suffer panic attacks over it.
Vicky Emmott, Senior underwriting manager at Halifax Travel Insurance, commented:
"It's ironic that planning a holiday, traditionally thought to provide an
escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life, actually piles on the
pressure."
Much of the concern over funding a holiday can be removed by selecting an appropriate low rate personal loan to spread the costs of a trip.
While having adequate travel insurance cover cannot stop holiday mishaps from occurring it does mean that should the worst happen any loss of money could be recovered.
