Newcastle Building Society takes prepaid card awards

Newcastle Building Society has won awards for its prepaid card campaigns.

Newcastle Building Society has been recognised by the credit card industry for its prepaid offerings, which took several prizes at the Card Awards.

The building society won the prize for best prepaid card marketing campaign of the year as well as the award for best cross-selling programme of the year and its joint product with White Eagle was highly commended in the best prepaid product of the year category.

John Humphrys hosted the awards ceremony, which also saw Abbey win a prize for one of its balance transfer credit cards.

Kriya Patel, head of card solutions at Newcastle Building Society, said: "We are delighted to have won two awards that recognise our innovative approach to prepaid cards.

"With over 160 live card schemes, we are more than equipped to deal with this expanding and increasingly popular area."

Newcastle's other credit card schemes include a balance transfer credit card offered through Visa.
