PayPal prepaid card wins award
A PayPal prepayment card has won a top prize at the UK Card Awards.
A prepaid card provided by PayPal has taken one of the top accolades at the annual Car Awards, which also recognises the achievements of balance transfer credit card providers.The Top Up Card, which enables customers who do not have debit cards or balance transfer credit cards to pay for items online, took the award for best new prepaid card.
PayPal claims that the card is particularly suitable for those who sell goods online using their online payments tool as it enables users to spend the money in their PayPal accounts offline.
Carl Scheible, managing director of PayPal UK, said: "We are delighted that the PayPal Top Up Card has been recognised as the best new prepaid card by industry experts at the Card Awards.
"The card has proved a big hit with customers, enabling them to pay with PayPal on the high street as well as online."
Other winners at the awards included the Abbey Zero Card, a balance transfer credit card which won the prize for best new card product of the year.
