FairFX issues money saving tips for those travelling abroad
Currency exchange website FairFX has issued some money saving tips aimed at helping people reduce the cost of their holiday.
A currency exchange website has issued some money saving tips which could help Brits make significant savings when jetting off on holiday this year.Stephen Heath, chief executive of FairFX.com, that buying foreign currency at an airport in the UK leaves tourists paying a "typical" margin of between eight and 15 per cent. Those buying currency on the high street will usually pay between five and eight per cent.
He added that the best way to find cheap bargain deals is to search online for currency trading services - a money saving tip that increasing numbers of Brits are paying heed to.
Mr Heath said: "In boom times people didn’t worry so much about travel money and left it till the last minute.
"[This year] it seems that more and more people are using the internet to deal with their travel money needs in advance."
With the pound currently weak against the dollar and the euro, finding a favourable exchange rate could help UK travellers significantly reduce the cost of their holidays.
