Cheap bargain deals are currently the aim of the game for many Brits going shopping and many are prepared to haggle to get them, according to new research.
Finding cheap bargain deals is becoming increasingly important to Brits out shopping and a new survey has shown that increasing numbers of people in the UK are no longer afraid to haggle prices down. The poll, conducted by uSwitch.com, found that 64 per cent of people in the UK are now adopting a discretionary approach to haggling for the best cheap bargain deals.
While this group only argues over items which they believe they can get cheaper, one in ten people will try bargaining over any item they now buy. Just 12 per cent of people told uSwitch.com they are too embarrassed to haggle these days.
Louise Bond, personal finance manager at uSwitch.com, said: "Shoppers across the nation are casting off their inhibitions and haggling for knock-down prices, cashing in on retailers desperation to secure a sale."
Recently, the Daily Mirror quoted experts who claimed that a change in Brits' attitude to cheap bargain deals means many are now prepared to discuss money saving tips with colleagues and co-workers.
