Money saving tips for utility bills offered
A website has published some money saving tips designed to help people cut their utility bills.
Utility bills can be cut by adhering to a simple series of money saving tips, according to one website in the UK.Confused.com suggested that people in the UK should take responsibility for reading their own electricity meters, which could help ensure that they are charged accurately for the amount of energy they use.
The website added that homeowners should make sure they tell their suppliers their meter readings.
Recently, the government announced that all houses in the UK will be fitted with smart meters, which give automatic accurate readings, by 2020.
Gareth Kloet, head of utilities at Confused.com, said: "With so many people paying estimated bills, the introduction of smart meters will be a welcome change for many households used to paying estimated bills."
Recently, British Gas announced a reduction in its electricity tariffs, which saw it launch one of the cheapest dual fuel packages currently on the market.
