Barclaycard has announced that it will reduce the fees charged on some of its balance transfer credit cards.
The credit card company announced that it is cutting the balance transfer fee on its zero per cent for 12 months Barclaycard Platinum balance transfer deal.
Previously, Barclaycard customers had to pay three per cent of any balance transferred under the deal, a figure which has now been reduced to 2.5 per cent.
Amer Sajed, managing director of Barclaycard UK, said: "This reduction will mean customers looking to move their balance now have to pay less to get a market-leading deal."
Earlier this year, Barclaycard reduced the annual percentage rate it charges on its Platinum cards, from 14.9 per cent to 12.4 per cent.
The credit card company has also recently reported that its contactless cards are proving popular, with increasing numbers of outlets signing up for the system.
