Marks & Spencer, Eurostar discount vouchers available
Those with the minimum of one share in companies such as Marks and Spencer can get discount vouchers.
Those looking to get money off the cost of a coffee in Marks & Spencer's Cafe Revive or a ticket for a trip on the Eurostar have been advised to take up shares with the companies.According to the new edition of the Barclays Stockbrokers Shareholder Benefits Guide, only one share in Marks & Spencer (presently equivalent to £3.71) is needed to be able to claim a discount voucher for reduced coffee prices.
Available for free on the investment managers website, the Barclays guide also revealed that shareholders with Eurotunnel enjoy a hefty 30 per cent saving through discount voucher codes, although a minimum of 7,000 shares (currently worth £6,268) is needed.
The guide has highlighted firms who offer perks to all shareholders rather than those with paper certificates for which a minimum is required, with companies such as Moss Bros.
Barbara-Ann King, investments manager at Barclays Stockbrokers, said: "We believe in giving our clients all the support they need to make the most of their investments and to help guide them to make the best decisions.
"While shareholder benefits alone are not a reason to buy shares, they are certainly an added bonus for those investors keen to own equity in a company."
Wholesalers are offering similar discount voucher codes to gamers looking to snap up Activision's long-awaited new release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, for cheap bargain prices.
Makro rushed to take advantage of what has been described as "2009's most anticipated video game" by offering an online discount voucher code to get it for just £20.
