Amazon leads cheap bargains for Christmas

Amazon currently has cheap bargain TV boxset DVDs on sale, which could help those still searching for gifts.

Online department store Amazon has been chosen as one of the best places to get a cheap bargain on Christmas presents this year, offering discounted prices on some of the most popular TV boxset DVDs.

The Telegraph reported that the website is currently having a sale on the items, offering up to 60 per cent off the cost of certain titles, as well as free delivery.

Included in the cheap bargains are seasons one-to-seven of The West Wing - now £44.97, down from £99.99 - and seasons one-to-six of The Sopranos, which has dropped from £129.99 to £59.98.

Other websites providing reduced-price gifts in the run up to the festive season are Penguin, the publishers, which has 20 per cent off all books with the discount voucher code PenguinTD, according to the newspaper.

On offer until December 31st, The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Little Learning Library is £4 with the code, while This Charming Man by Marian Keyes is £6.39, and postage is also free.

The publication added that Halfpriceperfumes.com is also stocked with cheap bargains.

"Just use the code hppxm10 at the online checkout before December 1st and save ten per cent. Another site is The Perfume Shop (theperfumeshop.com). Giorgio Armani Code for Men is £34.99, down from £41.99," it wrote.

A recent survey from the Post Office revealed that New York is the best place to go to grab some cheap bargains.

According to the report, a typical range of designer gifts is currently 25 per cent cheaper in the Big Apple than in London, due to the strength of the pound against the dollar and a reduction in prices caused by the continued effects of the recession in the country.
