NEW SAVINGS ACCOUNT FROM L&C INVESTMENTS

L&C Investments has tried to attract customers to its new savings account by offering an initial 5.15 per cent gross interest rate (4.95 per cent AER).

The special interest rate for the Access Extra account lasts for six month then it goes down to 4.75 per cent gross.

The simple account from the company, part of the mortgage broker firm London & Country, is completely operated by post and is easily accessible as there is no danger of getting any notices or penalties.

David Hollingsworth from L&C Investments said: "This account continues our theme of providing excellent value for the consumer, for savings as well as mortgages."

The minimum investment required is £1,000, with the maximum set at £1 million, and the minimum withdrawal is £250.

The Bath-based company also provides financial planning and income protection services.
