NORWICH UNION RELAUNCHES ENGINEERING INSURANCE

Article date: 22/06/2005 : 15:50:48

Norwich Union has revamped its engineering insurance product to coordinate it alongside its existing offerings. Norwich says that the relaunched policy will reduce paperwork and bureaucracy for its customers, and provide a simplified service structure.

The policy covers computers, machinery damage, own and hired plants, contract work machinery, deterioration of stock and engineering business interruption. Norwich will provide an online calculator to work out costs and a professional service from their specialist underwriting centres, dedicated to policy customers.

"Engineering cover is essential for modern business practice where we are becoming increasingly reliant on machinery and equipment. If it can't function there can be serious impacts on the ability to trade. Our new offering provides a complete insurance solution to guard against most eventualities," said Paul Sullivan of Norwich.

"All commercial business requires some kind of engineering insurance: If you are an office-based business computer cover is required and if working in industry, insurance for machinery and equipment is a necessity. As the UK's largest insurance group we are using our expertise and knowledge to support our customers and provide the range of services they demand."
